The William R. Poole Fund is being established by his family through Atlanta Classic Foundation Charities, Inc. (ACFC). ACFC is a recognized 501(c) 3 charitable organization and has managed and promoted Atlanta’s original PGA TOUR golf tournament, the BellSouth Classic, since 1966. William was a volunteer marshal for the BellSouth Classic and was en route to the 2006 tournament, when he lost his life in an automobile accident. The fund is being established as a tribute to his legacy and will be a testament to his strong character, exceptional work ethic, service to the community; uncompromised leadership and love of children.
